The Planar system will then automatically perform all or any of the following tasks.
- Import the DXF into the Planar software, ignoring any unwanted items such as frames, foldlines, text etc.
- Convert the critical dimensions in the DXF into an inspection report.
- Apply any tolerances from the dimensions to each inspection report item.
- Measure the shape and thickness of the part, up to 30 million times in 0.1 seconds regardless of size or complexity (with a further 25 seconds for data processing)
- Align the measurements to the DXF file
- Create and/or print a Go-No-Go diagram
- Create and/or print a Deviation map
- Print the inspection report in diagram form
- Print the inspection report
- Print a certificate of conformance
- The Planar system always measures the entire part and always detects missing holes and features
- Traditional inspection methods take so few measurements that burrs, dents, curved lines, elliptical holes, and many other faults are impossible to spot, the Planar system takes up to 30 million measurements and always detects these problems
- The Planar system is extremely easy to use, in automatic mode it requires almost no training, other methods such as CMMs require a highly skilled full time operator
- The Planar system can acquire up to 30 million measurements in 0.1 seconds, a top-of-the-range CMM would take about 1 year to acquire the same number of measurements
- Other inspection methods such as CMMs take many hours to setup, the Planar system requires no setup period.
- Unlike most systems the Planar system has no expensive moving parts, consequently it never needs recalibration, unless the system is moved or damaged
- The Planar system acquires its measurement data in 0.1 seconds and is therefore almost impervious to vibrations
- Unlike a CMM the Planar system is designed to be placed next to your production machine and does not require a temperature controlled environment
- Unlike some scanning camera or scanning laser systems the Planar system is impervious to scratches on the glass table
- The size or complexity of the part does not affect the measurement speed which is always less than 30 seconds
