An extremely useful feature of the Planar system is its ability to convert printed material, such as printed CAD drawings, into digital DXF files.

For example a customer may have a hand drawing of the outline of a component they want cut, or a printed or hand drawn CAD drawing, but they do not have a corresponding digital copy.
To create an accurate DXF manually can take hours, even days.

The Planar system can convert this printed material into a digital DXF in seconds. The system even includes optical character recognition (OCR) and neural networks to extract text and dimension layers from the drawing.
